• “Spey Casting” with Simon Gawesworth – Spey Days is pleased to welcome Simon back to the fold. Appearing every other year, Simon’s course will focus heavily on the elements of technique and improving your cast in every way. Anglers searching for consistency will benefit greatly from this course. Class is limited to 6 anglers and will last the day. Cost for the class is $200.

• “Steelhead Casting” with Dec Hogan – Dec’s course will feature intense instruction on his 6 most prevalently used fishing casts, steelhead fishing techniques, river conditions and considerations. This is a tremendous opportunity for two-handed anglers of all abilities. Class is limited to 6 anglers and will last the day. Cost for the course will be $250.

“Underhand Casting Techniques” by Charles St. Pierre of Northwest Spey Casting – This “hands on” class will focus on Underhand Casting techniques and the use of the proper tackle necessary to facilitate the maximum potential of this style of spey casting along with its many benefits and minimal limitations. This class will benefit individuals who are new to spey casting as well as experienced spey casters that are interested expanding their spey casting abilities. The class size is limited to a maximum of 5 students. Cost of the class is $75 per student.

Casting For River Left Mastery – Method and Strategy for Greater Success, with George Cook – George is one of the Northwest’s finest Skagit style casters and blends a thorough knowledge of casting and its relationship to fishing the fly with a great delivery to his audience. George has fished 2-handed rods world-wide and is highly experienced on our “backyard” waters as well. The class size is limited to 6 students. Cost of the class is $75 per student.

“Getting Your Cast to the Next Level”, with Instructor Al Buhr – Learn how to get more energy into your cast by more effectively loading the rod. Learn how to make stronger lifts with better line management during the cast. Al is an extraordinary caster, line designer and the author of Two-Handed Fly Casting – Spey Casting Techniques. The class size is limited to 4 students. Students need to be intermediate or better. The cost of this course is $120 with all proceeds being donated to the Native Fish Society.

“Becoming a Better Two Handed Angler”, with Ryan Petzold -The class will focus on transitioning from spey casting to spey fishing. Anglers of all skill level will benefit from insight into how best to use two handed rods as tools to catch more fish. Ryan is a natural lefty, former Kaufmann’s Streamborn employee, steelhead guide and works with George Cook and Sage. This class is limited to 4 students. Cost of the class is $75 per student.

“Intro to the Basics of Spey Casting and Fishing” with Brian Styskal & Whitney Gould – This class will cover the basic principles of two handed casting, such as stance, grip, application of power, and tempo of the cast. Basic casts such as the single spey, double spey, snap c, will be covered. Also, we will also go over upgrades to these casts which will help in fishing situations. Brian is a Washington   steelhead guide, as well as a C F Burkheimer Fly Rod Company Representative his home waters are the Skagit and Sauk Rivers. Whitney is the reigning National Women’s Spey Casting Champion. Cost of the class is $75 per student.
